Norwegian Artist & Designer
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt a deep need for creative expression. From a very early age, you could find me with crayons, pen and paper, completely absorbed in my own little world. Art has always been my way of processing. It helps me pause, reflect and reconnect.
I have studied both Visual Arts and Graphic Design, and hold a Higher Vocational Diploma in Visual Arts. In addition, I have worked professionally as a Graphic Designer for several years.
For a long time, a chronic condition kept me from both painting and continuing my work as a graphic designer, something that was truly difficult to accept. It still limits how much I can paint the traditional way, but digital art has given me back the freedom to create, through drawing and painting on my beloved iPad.
Today, Making Sense allows me to combine my experience as a designer with my artistic practice, to create work that resonates beyond myself and holds value for others. Creating in this way brings me a deep sense of joy and purpose.
Living with chronic illness has shaped both me and my creative journey. In a world driven by speed and perfection, art has become my way of returning to meaning, softness, and balance. It is where I can simply be myself, creating on my own terms.
I believe art can be a mirror and sometimes a gentle nudge to reconnect with what truly matters. I aim to inspire and empower through my art.
I explore the emotional landscape of being human, and through mindful art I want to create a visual pause. Each piece is a quiet invitation to slow down and listen inward. A gentle reminder to honor your own space and allow all parts of yourself. It’s okay to be vulnerable. It’s okay to say no. And it’s also okay to be strong and grow 🌱
In the midst of everyday noise, art can create moments of clarity and presence. Making Sense is more than a name, more than art. It is a process and a space for reflection. An exploration of how art helps us make sense of our inner world and our story. Because I truly believe that art can heal 🙌🏻
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your presence is what makes this space meaningful, and your support allows me to keep creating, sharing and making sense, one piece at a time 🙏🏻
Warm wishes,
Marita
