I am an norwegian artist & graphic designer
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt a deep need for creative expression. From a very early age you could find me with crayons, pen and paper, completely absorbed in my own little world. Art has always been my way of processing. It helps me pause, reflect and reconnect.
I studied Graphic Design and later pursued a two-year education in Visual Arts at Asker Art School in Norway. I have also worked professionally as a Graphic Designer for several years.
Due to chronic illness I eventually had to step away from both painting and my work as a graphic designer. It was a difficult transition and something that took time to accept. Traditional painting is still limited for me, but digital art has opened a new door. Through drawing and painting on my iPad I found a new way to create.
Over time I began exploring digital painting and slowly learned to work in Procreate. What started as a necessity gradually became a new creative language. Today Procreate and I have become good friends.
Through Making Sense I am able to combine my experience as a designer with my artistic practice. Creating in this way gives me a deep sense of purpose and joy.
Living with chronic illness has shaped both me and my creative journey. In a world often driven by speed and perfection, art has become my way of returning to meaning, softness and balance.
It is also a practice of embodiment. A way of coming back into the body. Of noticing what is already there.
I explore the emotional landscape of being human. Through mindful art I aim to create a visual pause. Each piece is a quiet invitation to slow down, listen inward and reconnect with what truly matters.
My hope is that my art can inspire and empower you
Making Sense is more than a name. It is a process and a space for reflection. An exploration of how art can help us make sense of our inner world and our story.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support allows me to keep creating, sharing and making sense, one piece at a time.
Warm wishes,
Marita
