MEET THE ARTIST

Hi, I’m Marita, a Norwegian artist, designer and the founder of Making Sense Art.

I create contemporary art inspired by nature and designed to become a natural part of the spaces where people stay, work, heal and connect. My work becomes part of the experience, helping environments feel calmer, warmer and more welcoming.

Before becoming a full-time artist, I worked as a graphic designer. That background continues to influence how I think about composition, colour and the relationship between art and architecture.

CREATING CONTEMPORARY ART FOR SPACES PEOPLE WANT TO RETURN TO

  • BACKGROUND

I’m a Norwegian artist and former graphic designer with a background in visual communication and fine art.

I studied graphic design before completing a two year programme in Visual Arts at Asker Art School in Norway. Together with several years of professional experience as a graphic designer, that foundation continues to shape how I work with the relationship between art and interior spaces.

  • CURRENT PRACTICE

Today I combine my background in design with my artistic practice to create contemporary art for environments where wellbeing matters.

My work begins with understanding the identity of a space and the experience it is intended to create. I carefully consider composition, colour, scale and placement so each artwork feels naturally connected to its surroundings rather than simply decorating a wall.

I believe art should do more than fill a space. It should strengthen the atmosphere, support the identity of an environment and create places where people feel calm, welcome and inspired to return.
